This exhibit features an updated storyline that focuses on the three jobs of the Petroleum and Water Department: Petroleum Specialist, Water Specialist, and Lab Specialist. Using artifacts, images, and touch-screen kiosks, the exhibit covers the importance of fuel and water from the beginning of the twentieth-century to the present.
The centerpiece of the exhibit is a full body statue of SSG Ronald Knowles that represents all Petroleum Specialists. Other items include the last section of pipeline installed as part of the Inland Petroleum Distribution System (IPDS), which supplied fuel to ground forces during Operation Iraqi Freedom; lab equipment used to check the quality of fuel, and water canteens that date back to the War of 1812.
