All time periods are represented in the clothing collection with World War II-Korea having the most examples. The collection includes headgear and footwear as well as uniform coats, trousers, shirts, and jackets. Certain specimens, such as a Civil War Four button sack coat and a World War II D-Day Invasion vest, are of particular interest to scholars and researchers because of their scarcity. The overall quality of the collection enables the Museum to portray a comprehensive interpretation of uniform evolution and, like the insignia collection, is one of the more complete in public domain.

The Clothing & Textile Gallery contains exhibits portraying the evolution of uniforms, examples of the Army’s use of camouflage over time leading up to today’s Army Combat Uniform, exhibits featuring women’s uniforms, and the development of the World War II “Ike Jacket.”
